Association supports new bird sanctuaries around Gartz / O.

It is not just about fulfilling perhaps annoying EU requirements, it is more about securing our natural foundations of life, our biodiversity in forests and meadows, and protecting our homeland. The Association of Friends of the German-Polish European National Park Unteres Odertal e. V. expressly expresses the plan of the Brandenburg state government to designate European bird sanctuaries in the Gartzer area. You can build valuable bridges and stepping stones to other large protected areas in the Schorfheide and around the Uckermark Lakes.

Economic disadvantages or job losses are not associated with this. Rather, a natural landscape is the basis for sustainable ecotourism, one of the few economic opportunities in the remote Oder region.

In any case, the association will of course make its areas in the area available for European bird sanctuaries.
