Born in 1957 in Köthen, trained bricklayer, 30 years as a hobby entomologist in the Schwedt specialist group of the Kulturbund, then nature photography and videoography, active nationwide, focusing on bird observation in the Lower Oder Valley National Park.

Born in Berlin in 1960, trained telecommunications fitter, studied theology in Greifswald and Halle / Saale and has been pastor in Lunow since 1990. He is honorary chairman of the Association of Friends of the German-Polish European National Park Lower Oder Valley.

Born in Sonnenburg / Neumark (Slonsk) in 1934, trained journalist, photographer and doctorate in art. Professionally, he worked primarily for illustrated magazines as a journalist and photographer, including for the “Neue Berliner Illustrierte” (NBI) as head of the culture department and later as deputy editor-in-chief until 1988. On a voluntary basis, he has dedicated himself above all to nature conservation and nature observation. He has been working in the Lower Oder Valley since 1991. His photo exhibitions about the national park were shown in Schwedt, Potsdam and Berlin. He is the author of several non-fiction books and illustrated books. Günter Blutke passed away in 2016.

Born in Elabrunn in 1952, agricultural machinery and tractor fitter, plant operator in Schwedt since 1969. From 1991–1993 nature guard in the Lower Oder Valley National Park, then employee of the National Park administration. In 1993, together with Dr. Hans-Jörg Wilke published the first illustrated book on the Lower Oder Valley. Worked as a film assistant for the film team Dieter Hoese and Heinz Sielmann. He succumbed to a long and serious illness on December 15th, 2004.

Born 1950 in Lezno (Poland), studied veterinary medicine, doctorate at the Agricultural Academy Wroclaw (Breslau), until 1990 veterinarian, laboratory manager for veterinary diagnostics, then district administrator in Gryfino (Greifenhagen) and as such co-initiator of the international park Unteres Odertal. Since 1994 director of the Polish landscape protection parks Dolina Dolnej Odry (Lower Oder Valley) and Cedynski (Zehden).

Born in 1952 in Bünde, Herford district, technical manager of an international electronics company, has been a recognized animal and nature photographer for 30 years, whose photos can be found in many publications. He regularly publishes articles in German-language specialist literature.

Works as a youth probation officer in the Berlin district of Wedding and publishes animal photos and animal travel reports on wild animals around the world, in newspapers and magazines. He is always drawn to our national park with his camera with its breathtaking biodiversity. - Ansgar Vössing
Born in Berlin in 1957, studied biology, theology and philosophy in Berlin and Münster, did his doctorate on the social learning of primates in the zoo. Worked as a lecturer at the Free University of Berlin, as a teacher and journalist. In 1988 he became speechwriter for the Governing Mayor of Berlin, worked from 1988–1991 in the scientific advisory service for the parliamentary groups in the Berlin House of Representatives. From 1991–1993 he worked for the Brandenburg Ministry of the Environment, primarily as the construction manager of the Lower Oder Valley National Park Administration. In 1993 he returned to the Berlin Senate Chancellery as head of the department for political planning and policy matters. He is honorary vice chairman of the Association of Friends of the German-Polish European National Park and board member of the Lower Oder Valley National Park Foundation.

Born in 1959 in Wolgast, 1984–1991 biology teacher at various Schwedt schools, then employed in the development staff of the national park and in the national park administration to this day. Together with Bernhard Grimm, he published the first illustrated book about the national park in 1993. Wilke dealt with the history of the Oder landscape for many years. As a result of his conversations with contemporary witnesses, four historical photo books were created under the title “Archive Pictures” on everyday life on the Oder and Haff. Since 2006 Wilke has devoted himself to the history of animal illustration and in 2016 was able to successfully complete his doctorate at the University of Jena on the subject of “Animal illustration in the popular scientific literature of the German-speaking area 1850–1950”.
