Waste of tax money over the “wilderness laboratory” in the national park center
On September 30, 2014, at the request of Head of Administration Treichel, the employees of the National Park Administration have to move out of their beautiful, modern, large and bright workrooms in the eastern extension of the Criewen Castle, initially in tight temporary arrangements. The expansion of small office space above the so-called “wilderness laboratory” in the national park center was not finished in time, and the Brandenburg State Office for Environment, Health and Consumer Protection had already terminated the office space in the eastern extension of the castle, which was built especially for the employees of the national park administration, and wanted to do so Cancellation, as offered by Internationalpark Unteres Odertal GmbH, also cannot be withdrawn.
The monthly rent and operating costs for the seven office rooms (approx. 183 square meters) amounted to approx. 1,880.00 € for the national park administration. The construction of significantly less and smaller office space above the so-called “wilderness laboratory” costs the Brandenburg taxpayer, according to the Brandenburg state government, at least € 600,000. That amounts to a waste of taxpayers’ money earmarked for nature conservation, because it means that the national park administration would have at least 25 years in existing, nicer and bright rooms for the money it now has to raise for the new construction of significantly smaller and poorer office space can work. In addition, the state administration has to pay substantial sums of money to the Brandenburg State Office for Real Estate and Construction (BLB) every month for the maintenance and management of the rooms.
In the MOZ on March 15/16, 2014, Head of Administration Treichel literally described the real justification for moving out of the national park administration as follows: “For the national park administration, it is increasingly unbearable to work together under one roof with an association that does not meet the objectives of the national park supported and even torpedoed. ”
The reason is of course nonsense, because the Association of Friends of the German-Polish European National Park Unteres Odertal e. V. uses only two of the castle’s 24 rooms, the rest are used by the Internationalpark Unteres Odertal GmbH and the Brandenburg Academy, which actually have no reason to growl.
Now the parliamentary group of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen in the Brandenburg state parliament has put a minor question no. 3639, (Landtag printed matter 5/9253). As a reason for the surprising move, the state government does not name the reasons given by Treichel, but an alleged duty of care for the employees of the national park administration who previously worked in the eastern extension: There would be moisture damage in the basement of the building, so that the employees of the National park administration could not be expected. But that is completely beside the point, because the eastern extension, in which the employees of the national park administration worked so far, has no dampness or moisture damage at all. These only exist in the neighboring bicentennial castle. They still come from the construction and renovation phase, for which the state building authority is responsible. For years, the tenant has been demanding from the landlord, the Ministry for the Environment, Health and Consumer Protection of the State of Brandenburg, the repair of the damage, which is increasing by doing nothing, without any success. The alleged moisture damage is therefore not a good reason for the forced departure of the employees of the national park administration from the rooms of the eastern extension.
