Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

I would like to present you with the Lower Oder Valley National Park Yearbook 2006, which for the third time now contains scientific, nature conservation, personal and humorous contributions to the Lower Oder Valley. I think it is precisely in this relaxed combination and mixture that the special charm of a yearbook lies, which tries to meet so many different demands, a reading book for all contemporaries interested in Germany’s only Auen National Park.

The National Park Yearbook Unteres Odertal 2006 is registered with ISBN and ISSN number and can therefore be obtained everywhere and is now being published for the third time in a row. It has become the most important forum for all topics related to the national park. For current nature conservation policy discussions, I refer to the first article by BERG & VÖSSING (pp. 4–9).

I recommend the Lower Oder Valley National Park Yearbook 2006 to your attention and I would be delighted if you could share it with your viewers, listeners and readers.

Kind regards

Dr. Ansgar Vössing
